About Me

My name is Joe Corrigan, the founder of JoCo Baseball. I grew up in Santa Monica, CA, and played baseball at Harvard-Westlake then USC. I learned valuable information about all parts of the game, and my goal is to share as much of that as I can.

My specialty is hitting. I could hit as long as I can remember, but Craig Wallenbrock really helped solidify my understanding of that skill in high school. He helped me understand not only what I should do with my body, but my mind as well. With that understanding came improved contact, power and confidence. I now had a defined idea of what my swing should be, and every swing I took was aimed towards that goal. I believe that attention to detail and focus on process is key to improving as a player and person.

I started on varsity all 4 years at Harvard-Westlake, hitting close to .400 and helping lead our team to 3 Mission League championships, as well as a Div. 1 CIF SS championship my senior year. Our group, under Head Coach Matt Lacour, helped turn that program into what it is today; one of the best in the nation. Throughout my career, I got to play with Major Leaguers including Jack Flaherty, Lucas Giolito, Max Fried, Conner Greene, Garrett Stubbs, Tyler Gilbert, Lars Nootbaar, and more still trying to make it to the highest level of baseball.

I coached my brother and his friends growing up, so I learned patience is key when working with kids. After I finished playing, I worked in marketing for a while before being asked to help coach. I loved it, so I refocused on baseball - this time coaching. I get joy from helping players grow and develop, and I have a rare understanding of one of the most difficult skills in all sports - hitting a baseball. My goal is to help as many players reach their goals as I can. Let me know how I can help you!
